Granville Art Affair and Rotary Wine Festival Schedule Announced
The fourth annual Granville Art Affair will be held this year on Saturday, June 9th and Sunday, June 10th. Over 100 fine artists will display their original oils, watercolors, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, wood working, photography, printmaking, graphics, and more. Last year’s two day event drew over 5,000 visitors. Held on the Great Lawn of the Bryn Du Mansion, admission to the Granville Art Affair is free.
The third annual Rotary Wine Festival will be held on Saturday, June 9th at the Art Affair. Tickets are $40 and may be purchased from any Granville Rotarian, at Ross’ Granville Market, The Granville Inn, Park National Bank’s Granville Office or any First Federal Bank Office. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.granvilleartaffair.com ($42) or at the gate on the day of the event ($50).
The 2012 event image is designed by Dick Close of Cincinnati, Ohio, and includes a painting depicting the event in front of the Bryn Du Mansion created by artist Kathy Anderson, who attempted to capture the lively and colorful event and the pleasant feeling of strolling on the Great Lawn while sipping wine and viewing the beautiful artwork on display. The original painting will be available for auction at the Winemaker’s Dinner.
Activities leading up to the Art Affair & Wine Festival will kick off on Friday evening, May 18, with the Rotary Winemaker’s Dinner. This year’s exclusive event will be hosted by Steve Burgess of Burgess Winery. Pioneers in the Napa Valley, Burgess has remained true to its roots as a small, family-run winery which retains control over the entire winemaking process, beginning with estate-grown grapes and culminating with careful bottling on site. Burgess is well-known for their award-winning Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah.
Held in the Great Hall of the historic Granville Inn, this extraordinary five course dinner with matching wines will commence at 6:30 pm. Prepaid reservations are required. The Winemakers Dinner is $89 per person (includes tax and gratuity). Seating is limited; tickets may be purchased on line at www.granvilleartaffair.com or at the Granville Inn Front Desk.
